patiently waiting for jin's lines and screentime

lethallergic:

I’ve always had this deeply profound and fervent amount of respect for Yoongi, but after reading his twitter messages, I’ve gained an entirely new level of reverence for him that I never thought would be possible. There are always going to be people who misunderstand his straightforward and raw personality, but the truth of the matter is that Yoongi probably bares the weight and pressures of satisfying those around him more than anyone else - those that he cares for - and when he fails to do that, it proves to be his greatest downfall.

In retrospect, I personally think Yoongi has always been the one that cared the most about his fans, the one that never forgets to take a step back and look at how far they’ve come, even in the midst of success (mesmerized by the trophies right when they win it), the one that has never taken any moment for granted, and the one that is so genuinely here to share his dreams and passions with those willing to listen. This is the man that’s always teased for being cranky and mean, but nearly cries onstage thanking his fans. This is the man who has declared “I don’t give a shit” as his personal motto but spends hours making creative and elaborate gifts for his fans on his own birthday.

And now, this is the man desperately seeking peace with his own regrets and disappointments because he was sent to the hospital and unable to stand on stage to meet his fans, heavily taking the fault for his own health and afraid that he’d done his fans wrong, thus tearing himself apart from his own flaws and imperfections. I mean, he spontaneously disappeared from the country to take a trip back to the very moment that still haunted him in his sleep, put himself in the fans’ shoes to ease the huge amount of regret he felt because that’s the type of person Yoongi is, one that will willingly fall alongside his loved ones should he ever need. He may seem as cool as a cucumber a majority of the time, but he silently cares to the point of self-sacrifice and appreciates every single thing that has become a part of his life.

I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed anyone stay so humble and true to his values after reaching such high accomplishments in life, and if there’s anything you should remember about Yoongi, it’s that he doesn’t - and will never - take anything or anyone for granted.
